20/20 plans adoption reality TV skit

I heard this on the radio this morning. A lot of people are angry at ABC for planning a reality skit where 5 families compete to adopt a child.

Here's John Stossel (whom I trust) on the story.

Whew! Maybe the promotion of the show was misleading. This is not a "reality show." Barbara's report is not "trash." This is an introduction into the new world of "open" adoptions. A mother is making a choice and ABC was there to tape the process. Fascinating things happen along the way. It's an emotional story about love, loss, and what can happen during an open adoption. Please don't criticize it before watching it.

Spoiler:
It's the moment when Jessica, cradling her newborn, has the transfer contract placed in front of her on the hospital bedside table. At that moment, when she has to decide whether to keep her promise or her baby, tears flood out of her, dropping directly on the child.

Did you get the 'k' and 'h' mixed up in your title?

I can't believe even Jon Stewart seems upset about this. Everybody who's freaking out about this is a total idiot. I'm sure the piece is no different than just about any other news piece or documentary. They always edit these things and focus on certain aspects to make them more interesting.

The commercial is ridiculous, but once again, advertising in general is misleading and fairly ridiculous.
