Austin City Limits Festival....band clues.

Well, according to the Austin Chornicle, all 140 bands that will be at the ACL Fest this year are booked, but they can't legally announce them yet. But they did run this little sentence...that holds in it some clues. The only band that has confirmed is The Pixies....and take what you will from this...

Being there at dawn in the lonesome, crowded West, Archduke Franz Ferdinand stroked his cal(ex)ico cat and moaned, "O, what a lonely boy am I!"

Soooo...sounds like Modest Mouse, The Strokes, Colexico, maybe...Damien Rice, Los Lonely Boys and Franz Ferdinand.

Any others you all can get out of that?

P.S. Cat Power maybe.

"Being there" = Wilco

"at dawn" is really bothering me. It's on the tip of my tongue.

-edit-

GOT IT! "at dawn" = My Morning Jacket

Well, I don't believe this one, mostly because U2 has absolutely no need to do a festival like this...I mean, it's cheaper to get into all 3 days of the fest than it would be to go to one U2 show. Man, it would be so great if it were though...

Phish.com sent me an email yesterday confirming that Trey will be headlining the main stage on Saturday night. More importantly, the email said that full festival details will be released next week. So, soon, we should have a full list of bands.

I seriously doubt that Trey and the Pixies will play against each other, and even if they do, Trey won't have any problem getting a crowd...at all.

No offense to The Pixies, they are great and will have a great crowd, but you have to be kidding, right?

I'm sure it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy to be in the minority.
