Returning game w/o a receipt

It seems like there are already a few threads about returning things, but they are mostly about dvds and I didn't feel those were relevant to my situation.

I have a copy of Socom II for playstation2 that I got for christmas and is still unopened. (My ps2 broke, and by the time I bought a new one, I lost any interest I had in playing this game) I am hoping to return it somewhere without a receipt. I read on another thread that Target will accept returns without receipts, but I don't know if they will accept an item that costs so much. I have tried 2 Best Buy stores where the first said the price was too high, and the second store said they don't allow returns without receipts after the christmas season. I totally understand this, but there's gotta be some place I can get at least store credit for this, right?

Any suggestions? thanks

As long as it's sealed, you'll probably be able to return it to Wal-Mart with no problems.

Thanks guys, I will definitely try Walmart soon.

Would I have to take it directly to the video games section of the store, or is there a customer service desk that deals with returns?

Wal-mart works for me and you can go to the Cust. Service desk. I've also had better success when I call ahead and they know I'm coming.

WOW. Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. I just returned it at Wal-mart for store credit and it was completely hassle free.

You can do returns w/o receipt 3 times a year. So you have 2 more to go
