JPL was the perfect candidate for "Mandy".
Now...
I remember all my life
raining down as cold as ice.
Shadows of a man,
a face through a window cryin' in the night...
DeGarmo or Trias will sing that with a silly grin on their face.
For some reason, I see Huff and Hudson fighting over "Weekend in New England".
Red will do "Copacabana".
Oh, and I don't know if I mentioned, but vote FOR YOUR BOTTOM THREE. (preferably after the performances)

OK, was there something wrong with my audio? Diana sounded terribly flat and pitchy, but Simon gives her a huge compliment.

George has another bad week with an average karaoke performance.
Jennifer's main problem is still there: she has no control in the soft parts. She's fantastic when she needs power vocals but on par with Camille when she needs softer and smoother notes. For all her growth, this still stands out as a huge weakness. On a side note, terrible outfit.

Oh, I get it ... this is the part of the show where they are down to enough people to put out an American Idol 3 album, so they're not telling the contestants how much they suck. Jasmine was all over the place and received not a negative word.

I thought early on that those runs of George's were his weakest point. He seemed to give them up, but they came roaring back. Very unfortunate. I didn't think it was a "mess" though. Average for what he has been doing.

La Toya showed why she's so far beyond Jennifer early in the song as she was as strong at the beginning as she was at the end. As a fan of hers, though, I think she tried for just a little too much. I applaud the effort in going after this competition, but she was slightly off on one or two notes, leaving the door open for Fantasia.

John was simply John, but to his credit, he wasn't terrible.
Fantasia didn't overtake La Toya as I was expecting. I'm not sure if she beat Jennifer either. It'd be very close. Missed opportunity for her, but she'll have more chances. I'm afraid La Toya is just too good to win this competition. She's too mature and comfortable with her talent, and I don't think America will respond to that as much as they'll respond to more colorful personalities.
Based solely on tonight, I'd probably drop Diana, Jasmine, and George. Tossup between George and John, but George was more annoying, while John was just more average.

Diana sounded horribly nasal. I too was stumped by all the praise she received.
I thought John Stevens was much improved and seemed to have a lot more confidence onstage. Surprised he got such a lukewarm response from the judges.

Why can't any of them just sing the freaking song? I swear I couldn't recognize half the songs -- ESPECIALLY It's a Miracle. In the same way that Kenny G's endless scales and arpeggios do not impress me, neither do screaming and screeching with no hint of a melody.
I couldn't hear a melody during John's either, but that was for entirely different reasons.
I am really beginning to like last year's American Idol more and more.
