...buyer beware!!!... these are not the Fleischer cartoons, but rather the made-for-TV cartoons - which are, quite frankly (imnsho, of course!), *l*o*u*s*y*...

Just watched disc one-highly recommended. The animation isn't that bad and it's certainly better than Felix the Cat or Courageous Cat.Anyone who is a fan of Popeye shouldn't afford to miss this.

...well... at one time there was a laserdisc which, going by the linked description, was no good at all (sigh)... perhaps we will have a "good" DVD release of the Fleischer POPEYE cartoons someday - after all, there were two "competing" DVD releases of Fleischer's SUPERMAN cartoons, as well as an excellent DVD containing most, if not all, George Pal PUPPETOONS, including the (three-strip Technicolor!) ones he made for Philips of the Netherlands in the late 1930s)...

better news
this looks more worthy of attention (as reported by Cartoon Research):
The POPEYE ANNIVERSARY COLLECTORS EDITION dvd VCI is releasing on May 25th contains all 34 public domain Fleischer & Famous Paramount Popeye cartoons, with prints taken from 35mm elements - and re-instated original titles. This is the best Popeye collection on dvd we will see until Warner Bros. releases restored versions some day in the far off future. It's $19.00 retail from VCI or $16.99 from Amazon.com
