Legal music download woes!

Ok, so I'm TRYING to be friggin legal and support the music biz, but [chandler bing]could it BE any harder?![/chandler bing]!

I just signed up w/ Walmart (0.88/song, excellent selection).

I bought Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow 'Picture'. Added it, downloaded it.

ok, apart from having to run their strange software, it went fairly smoothly.

Until I played the damn thing - it was 'Sheryl Crow - Steve McQUeen'?! Filename is correct, song is not.

WTF?

Also - how do you deal with backups? when i get a new computer etc? You can backup to two computers, what happens after that? you are losing your entire collection after 2 computers worth? (Thats like 2 years for me).

That sounds crazy. Everything was smooooooth for me. No problems at all! It me it's a great deal .88cents per song! Download them fast and the song is in great quality....no beeps or crazy noises when playing.

Nothing prevents you from reripping the songs aside from the fact that you're reencoding them and thus losing further quality. Of course, if you're purchasing music online it's not exactly like your primary concern is sound quality to begin with. Besides, Walmart's DRM scheme is such crap that it makes the reripping step almost mandatory.
