I think it looks pretty decent. With all the talent involved this movie could be really good.

Looks like it might be more funny than creepy and bette midler is someone I could do without and it looks like they washed out the messages and subtext of the original... still - it could make for an interesting film, so I'll probably go see it.

Yeah, it looks like they kept the comedic elements of the book, but it still looks real good. Plus it doesn't hurt that Nicole Kidman looks incredible...

Frank Oz + Nicole Kidman + Christopher Walken + me buying stock in this on HSX = me buying a ticket opening day.
However, that trailer gives away a bit too much.

While I am sure there are a lot who do not know about the story, most of the public knows what's up due to pop culture.
The fact that Oz also directed Little Shop of Horrors ('86) gives me confidence in this movie.

The trailer is funny, I'll give it that. They certainly spent some $$$ on the cast for this movie. The teaser actually had shots of the completed robotic Kidman if I recall correctly.
In terms of ruining the twists, it seems as though this movie assumes the audience already knows what's up going into it and is just having fun with the concept. Of course the disturbing satirical element is very much present, and the fact that they made all of the wives women who were at one point more successful than their hubbies actually taps into modern male paranoia quite well.
