How does current R2 Trainspotting compare to the upcoming R1 release?
As far as extras and what not are concerned, should I hold off and wait for the region 1 or go ahead and get the R2 version already out? Is the re-release going to be un-cut? Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

From what I know about Miramax, they will not release unrated DVDs. There will be cuts, but my interest is in how much of the film will be cut. Also, the transfer on the R2 Definitive Edition is a bit underwhelming (and can personally say it didn't blow me away). I predict they will make cuts with regards to drug use, likely excising any portions which show needles entering arms, etc. If they only cut a few seconds, I won't mind too much, especially if it means a substantially better transfer than the R2. If I were you, I would wait to see what happens with the R1 SE and if they end up butchering it one way or the other you could pick up the R2.

Show some pubic hair, though. That's a different story.

The only thing I don't like about the r2 is the pal speedup makes the music pitched different and the voices pitched higher. It's a tad distracting.
You should check your home cinema setup because there's no such thing to the human ear. My dog does notice, though, it must be said.
Not that I want to start the whole 'PAL -v- NTSC' debate again. I have over 500 PAL discs and there's definitely no sound problem. I'm assuming you guys who complain, either have bad/poorly configured systems or a hearing problem that's -as yet- undiagnosed.

Indeed! Though, having played a few instruments in my youth, I can say that there IS a difference, albeit subtle, in tone of speaking voices on PAL DVDs. Having perfect pitch, it is possible to pick it up, in fact, my father doesn't have perfect pitch and he noticed the difference! If Daniel doesn't hear it, just let it go... he has a right to his opinion.

</small>That will do.
After first having read my comments on the split/closed thread here, you can email me with any disagreement, as can anyone else who might feel aggrieved. Please don't expect a speedy reply, though, as I am sure that Real Life will intervene....
