Homeland Security - NBC TV Movie about the events of 9/11 - Are you going to watch?

Just saw the TV promo for this NBC TV Movie airing this Sunday.

Are you going to watch?

Will it be worth watching?

I believe since it is an "NBC TV Movie", you have already answered your own question, which would be 'no'.

"This NBC Original Movie takes you inside the war on terror, to meet the American warriors on the front lines. They wage a war with no rules. They pursue an enemy hiding throughout the world. They know that some of their greatest victories will never be made public. But together, their mission is a singular one: to protect the American homeland."

That's a big negatory on both of your questions.

I saw a preview for this. It didn't look like it had much to do with 9/11.

The memory of all this crap is not far away. It's all recent stuff and it's still ongoing. WHY THE HELL DO I WANT TO WATCH A MOVIE ABOUT IT?

Think back to 9/11, the day it all happened. I remember thinking ,"I wonder who will actually be dumb enough to make a movie about this day..."

All that was missing from the promo was "Homeland Security. It's 'Threat Matrix' without the deaf chick".

Hilariously enough, and YES I am serious..."homeland security" was the original title for "Threat Matrix", but they changed it.

I very vaguely remember hearing that a pretty prominant director (Cameron or Bruckheimer come to mind) was interested in doing a movie some years down the line based on 9/11. They of course were going to wait til it wasn't still fresh in our memories, but they said they would be interested.

This is all from my memory - I have no source.

That's exactly what I thought. "How is this different from 'Threat Matrix'?"

No. And that's not just because I'll be watching Sopranos/Deadwood anyways. I still wouldn't watch if those shows weren't on.

I have absolutely no need to relive that day, especially for a cheap attempt at ratings

I was there that day and currently live and work no more than a hundred yards from ground zero. I'm reminded every day about what happened because of the giant size hole it the ground. It sickens me that NBC or anyone will be making a movie about this so soon. I can understand 20, 30 years from now lest we forget but not now.

I was shocked to see this promo air during Law and Order a few days ago. I can't believe NBC would make such a crass cash-in on a tragedy that is so recent in our memories. Where are the criticisms of this that "The Reagans" on CBS received?

I won't be watching it. Don't want to watch a sensationalized drama of what happened.

So how was it? Was it tasteful (I don't see how it could be judging from the previews) did it have anything to do with 9/11 or was that just sensationalism? I mean they basically advertised it as a 9/11 movie without calling it that.
