American Idol - 4/6/04 - "The Music of Sir Elton John"
It's time for the songs of Sir Elton! Surely Jasmine and DeGarmo are fighting over Lion King songs.
What are your song predictions? Who do you think will do well? Does John Stevens deal with the Devil extend beyond top 10? Will America realize that Camile and JPL have no talent? (though get rid of JPL first, as at least Camile is eye-candy )

Like any of this matters when it's all about bloc voting, and not talent that's keeping some of these horrendous "singers" in the competition. For the next month, it's going to be surprisingly frustrating as to who gets the boot, that I believe will be the case.

Jennifer, Fantasia and George are in trouble.
I don't know of any Elton John songs with screaming throughout the song for Jennifer.
Fantasia and George don't have the right song for Elton John songs.

Fantasia and George don't have the right song for Elton John songs.
Let's try these for starters:
Sad Songs (Say So Much)
I'm Still Standing
The Border Song
Circle of Life
Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
Island Girl
Grow Some Funk of Your Own
Mama Can't Buy You Love
Levon
Philadelphia Freedom
I'm Still Standing
Part-Time Love
Sacrifice
Don't Let the Sun go Down on Me
I'm guessing that one of the three, if not all three, could handle any of this group of songs.
BTW, Elton songs with screaming (or at least yelling):
The Bitch is Back
Saturday Night (is Alright for Fighting)
Grow Some Funk of Your Own
I'm Still Standing

I'm really hoping that George does "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues". I mentioned it in last week's massive thread and I'm glad someone else has brought it up it here.
I can really imagine him doing a great version of that.

Idol executive producer Ken Warwick says no way. He, too, was "very surprised" by London's finish and says the 20-million-vote tally, tabulated by Telescope, is accurate. The show does try to screen out bloc-voting schemes.
Some theories behind the voting results:
•Personality is trumping skill. London's reserved personality might not attract fervent fans. On the other hand, many have fallen for Jon Peter Lewis, who may be an awkward dancer but is not easy to forget.
•The youth vote. Votes are taken by text-message, which can cost 10 cents a vote, and phone, which is often busy. Teens may be more tolerant of these hassles than grown-ups, which could give teen singers such as Stevens an advantage.
•Gender imbalance. With female contestants outnumbering male (eight to four) for the first time, the women could see their votes split by fans picking along gender lines.
•Voter complacency. Fans might think some of the best singers are safe and don't need their votes, leaving those performers vulnerable.
Warwick acknowledges that the voting results have been more erratic this season and attributes it to a better balance of talent.

My guess is her being in the bottom 3 last week will rally a lot of support and calls for her this week.

One thing I've been meaning to mention:
Anyone ever notice that JPL's dad seems as if he was an "America's Funniest Home Videos" career audience member? Maybe its just me....

More like a lack of talent!
I'm going to watch just to see which Elton's song Jasmine, JPL and Teen Martin manage to butcher again tonight!

Interesting. I was setting up a DVDTalk league on the Hollywood Stock Exchange (see link in my sig) and noticed that they are trading warrants for the contestants:
