I need help!!!
I currently own a region-2 dvd player. It is a Philips DVD 634. I have recently bought two region-1 dvds: the lord of the rings, the first two parts. My problem is that I cannot play the dvds because of the region code. Can anyone tell me what to do? Someone told me I have to modify some electronic components of the dvd; another friend told me I can fix the problem just by inserting a special code from the dvd's remote-control. I have spent a great deal of money on that 2 dvds and I really want to do something in order to watch them!!!

Press 0 for region free or 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 etc.
To check region Open the tray and press Display on the remote

Region code hack posted by Damian, August 01 2003:
Open the Disc Tray, then Press "0000" and then the number for the regional Code you want to be played. A message shows you the correct proceedure: For example "new Regin 4". That's It.
