Help me create a Kickin GAY Song Playlist !

a good mate of ours is going away for a year in a month's time. He's a really good bloke who happens to be gay. We want to put together a really kickin party for him.

I've got the job of supplying the music, my mate loves all the usual gay anthems so i need help putting a good playlist together

Here are the obvious ones i've thought of

YMCA - Village People
Hot Stuff - Donna Summer
Go Wests - Pet shop boys
Dancing Queen - Kylie Minogue
I'll tumble 4 ya - Culture Club
you make me feel mighty real - Sylvester
Queer eye theme tune

i know there's gonna be a lot of Disco on the playlist

Any single solitary song by Erasure, some recommendations off the top of my head would be "Who Needs Love (Like That)" "Chains of Love" and "Love To Hate You."

But, basically, if you got their CD "Pop! The First 20 Hits" you'd have a party right there.

I'd think you would have to put

I touch myself by Divinylis (sp??)

and

I'm too sexy by Right Said Fred

not specifically gay tracks I suppose, but they seem appropriate

So maybe it is or isn't a gay song, but I don't see how you could overlook "I'm Coming Out" by Diana Ross.

"Situation" by Yaz
"Electrobix" by Scissor Sisters
"Ban Marriage" by The Hidden Cameras
"You and Me and the Moon" by The Magnetic Fields

Frankie say add "Relax" to your list... (not that Frankie, Static!)

"It's Raining Men" - The Weather Girls

"Lady Marmalade"?

"I will Survive"?

Don't forget Eartha Kitt, Cher, and Babs Streisand!

Plus, you picked the wrong Village People song... Try "Macho Man"

There's actually several compilation albums on the subject at Amazon (including albums entitled "Let's Hear It For The Boy: Vol 1-3"):
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...253641-2010352

Now I have to go view 20 video games to clear up the Amazon "Page You Made"

I can't wait till they have this party, and halfway through, the guy says, "What the hell? Why are all these songs so gay?"

A Little Respect would also be good.

Throw in some ABBA, - Take their Dancing Queen over Kylie!!
another Pet Shop Boys or two,
some Bronski Beat,
Outside by George Michael,
Bananarama figures high in the gay stakes,
some Bette Midler for nostalgia,
You spin Me Round by Dead Or Alive
I Am What I Am by Eartha Kitt
Shiny Happy People: REM
Some B-52's - two gay boys there (although one is dead)
Some Queen - the biggest show Queen of all time and the best
Some uptempo Elton John: I'm Still Standing maybe

Let's all assume that only thoughtful recommendations were required and post accordingly.... as opposed, say, to (ab)using the thread to slam bands or musical types we think are "gay"....

I think he means music written by homosexuals or is about homosexuality. It isn't a hard concept to grasp.

strong agreement

Maybe "The C*cks*cker Club", "Boyfriend Wanted", "Rock and Roll Queer Bar", "F**k Buddy", "Smells Like Queer Spirit", "Bill and Ted's Homosexual Adventure", "Jack U Off", "Touch My Joe Camel", "Dick of Death", or "Two Way Ass".

Sex Pistols-"Friggin in the Riggin'" is a fun tune.

Here's an excellent song by Momus. The military tune is amazing:

"Steven Zeeland"

[ from the album "Stars Forever" (1999) ]

Lyrics

All I desire is a military man who knows that he is born
A soldier, a sailor, a pretty marine blowing on the horn
On a military base or a battleship deck
Let me come in his ass with my tongue down his neck
When I die mix my ash with the piss
At Camp Pendleton Del Mar Enlisted Club

Well Brent was my crush in high school, boys
And I followed him round the world
Well the army sent Brent off to Frankfurt, boys
But Brent he went off with a girl
I rented a room like a Fassbinder film
But I needed a job so they had me begin
At a sporting goods store on the military base
Blowing on the horn

And why should I lust after killing machines
A man of my delicate build?
Why request photos of naked marines
From the Athletic Model Guild?
Stripped to the skin, their muscles like rocks
With their hair high and tight, gripping their c*cks
Put it down to the fact that opposites attract
And go blowing on the horn

On Okinawa straight Corporal Buchman bonded while getting tattoos
In California a thousand marines were caught posing for gay videos
Nobody's straight one hundred percent
Every soldier and sailor's potentially bent
I'll keep you hard 'til your girlfriend arrives
And keep blowing on your horn

He wrote 'Barrack Buddies and Soldier Lovers', 'The Masculine Marine'
'Sailors and Sexual Identity' and did lots of research in between
But a writer should never stop living to write
Steven Zeeland, our hero, still follows the fleet
Painting the town, writing it down
And a' blowing on the horn

Agh!

A man in the thrall of a sexual spell is the luckiest man alive
The dreams he has lived and the sperm he has spilled
Give meaning to his life
When you look back, after you're dead
You'll regret what you didn't do, not what you did
When I die mix my ash with the piss
At Camp Pendleton Del Mar Enlisted Club

A great Xmas song by the Vandals with an excellent tempo change:

Christmas Time For My Penis

I see you've been feeling down
When I needed you, you've been around
So this year I've a Christmas surprise
That will make your spirits rise...

I think back on the times, when you've always been there for me
And when things seemed unclear - you did the thinking for me.

I owe you so much that its hard,
To repay you for all the good times
And I won't forget you this year...
It's Christmas time for my penis.

I know I have let you down when you just needed a hand
When I was uncertain, you showed me that I am a man

I owe you so much that its hard,
To repay you for all the good times
And I'm going to give you the joy
That you've earned this year pal...
It's Christmas time for my penis.

I owe you so much that its hard,
To repay you for all the good times
It's Christmas time for my penis.

I know you've been feeling down,
All pent up its so hard to breathe
Don't fret this Christmas -
You'll get the attention you need

I love you so much that it's hard,
To repay you for all the good times
We'll get whores and pornography -
Your special holiday, pal...
It's Christmas time for my penis.
