Opinions on the DENON AVR-2803
Looking to upgrade, and the outlaw combo at $1500 is a little too steep. I'd rather put the extra $800 into a TV. Thoughts on this model?

A great receiver if my 2802 is any indication
I think Denon makes a great receiver and I doubt you will be disappointed.
what speakers are you going to use?

I just upgraded from a Denon receiver to the Outlaw combo (950/7100) this month. The Denon has been a solid performer but the Outlaw separates blow it away. You won't be sorry either way IMHO but the Outlaws are definately a step above if you can afford it.
I think the speaker question is valid as well. The Klipsch's are have super sensitivity and the Denon will easily power them. I'm not sure the sensitivity of your speakers but my point is the less sensitive they are, the more I'd lean to the Outlaws since the 7100 amp has a lot more power with all channels running.

I've had a Denon 1803, and I currently have a 3803. I guess if you average it out, I have the 2803.
I was happy enough with the 1803 to upgrade, so take that for what it's worth.

A friend bought the Denon 2803. I had to go set it up for him, so I learned a good bit about it. It is a very good receiver. You need to know that there is a bit of a learning curve to it though, especially with the remote. Denon has a language, all their own. Instead of Multi Channel, they use EXT. IN (External In), is the best example I can think of off hand. Once you learn it, you should be very happy with it.
Good luck!

I was told that there would be no comparable system "until at least June"

I just bought one today. Hooking it up now. Let you know soon.
Also, I got mine from Tweeter they have it on sale for $650. You can find it online a little cheaper, but Tweeter is an authorized dealer. Denon only honors the warranty from authorized. I also have the 30 day return period as well as convience of it being B&M.
