Everybody! Everybody! HOMESTARRUNNER on DVD!...?

While perusing homestarrunner.com today, I noticed this in the FAQ:

Q: When does the DVD come out?
A: Sometime in 2004. We keep putting more and more stuff on it so you'll like it more. But hopefully it'll be in the first half of 2004.
I assume this isn't a joke as most the other products listed in the FAQ have already come out.

Not sure if this is a DVD for a TV or a DVD-ROM of all the Homestar stuff, but either way, looks to be good news indeed!

I e-mailed them this question about a year ago and was late 2003 then . They said at the time it would probably be "themed" releases, with the first one being StrongBad E-mails.

For play in a standard DVD player on a TV or just as files on a DVD ROM for a PC? I only ask since it IS web-based material.

My only question was whether they were going to release a DVD. You have a point though, but they certainly could convert it into mpeg. Personally, I wouldn't see the need to buy it if it were only flash files on a DVD-Rom, it's free on the website!

BTW - how funny would commentary be on some of the shorts? Especially if done in character?

Didn't the Happy Tree Friends put out two DVDs already? Seems they just converted their flash animations and such.

Oh awesome, I was hoping they'd do a DVD. This will be especially good for my boyfriend, whose slow comp has kept him from watching anything new.

Actually, I think this is a given. If you check the "big toons" section of their site, you'll see that a couple of them now have "DVD features" (storyboards, commentary, and deleted scenes). I'm sure those weren't there before. So they're probably adding them as they make them for the DVD. Cool, eh? Man, the commentaries are almost funnier than the toons!

They actually have 3 out and I won them all. Might have to pick up this one as well.
