Shopping for a new player
So, I'm in the hunt for a new DVD player that will go with the future purchase of my Sammy 43' DLP. I want to keep it relatively affordable, because I'm pretty much blowing all of the money on the TV.
DVI out is not necessarily a must, although it would be nice, DVD-R compatibility is an absolute must (specifically Ritek G04 DVD-R's), and I would like to stay under $300, ideally even under $200. Obviously, the TV has a Faroudja de-interlacer built in, so it's not necessary to have one in the player.
I've heard some mixed things about the Sammy HD-931. I hear the Denon 910 is not the friendliest when it comes to DVD-R's, I'm tentative about V-Inc Bravo 2 just because I'm not familiar with the company, and somebody at HTF suggested the Panasonic DVD-XP30, but these all run in the $299 range. Fine, but is there anything that's good and a little more affordable that you can recommend to me?
