Broken DVD Player, please help

I have a Samsung DVD-P231, and it recently quit playing dvds. It still plays Cds for some reason but when you put a DVD in it just says loading and eventually says it can't read the DVD and says no disc. Anyone know how to fix this or had this happen to them before? Thanks.

You might try using a lens cleaning CD on it.

I think the one I have was about $20. It's labeled a CD lens cleaner but now they have one labeled DVD lens cleaner.

Here it is at Amazon but you could probably find it cheaper. They have some other brands on that page too that run under $10.

You can also try setting the player back to factory settings. It should tell you in the manual, how to do this. Usually very easy.
Good luck!

If all of that fails put it in the trash and buy a new one. Usually if it can't read a DVD anymore but it can read CD's the laser tracking is off and the repair will cost about the same as the player (unless you bought a really high end player.)
