I wonder what type of bounce Passion will get when Easter hits in four weeks.

I'm surpised at the take of Secret Window. There was little promotion for it. Looks like Johnny Depp's name alone is carrying the flick.

As compared to the amount for Starsky and Hutch or Hidalgo? I'd say I've seen 1/2 the amount of commercials or less for it.

I haven't seen alot of commercials for Hildago or S&H, but I've seen a ton of Secret Window ones.

Odd.

Maybe it's a regional thing.

I've seen about 8 - 10 commercials for S&H and Hidalgo to about every 1 or 2 Secret Window ones. Maybe the promoters know we all hate Johnny Depp here in AZ.

I see Secret Window commercials practically every commercial break here. I don't think I've ever seen a single Hildago commercial - in fact, I'm not even sure what the movie is about.

On a side note, how did 50 First Dates cost 75 million to produce? I haven't seen it, but it didn't seem like a very costly movie.

Payroll Adam Sandler and Drew probably ran half the budget.

Sandler probably got a huge chunk of change (around 1/3 of the budget) and Drew has probably been getting a good paycheck after Charlies Angels (and before CA2 was released). I'm sure Schneider got a couple of mil too. Then you have all the money that producers and execs squeeze out.

I think $20M was an impressive take for Secret Window.

I doubt Schneider got a couple of million. My guess is that production in Hawaii cost alot more than if they worked on the mainland.

I was going to add that. The hotel rooms in Hawaii probably cost a nice chunk of change. Along with all the other expenses that come up when you operate in a money sucking tourist enviroment like Hawaii.
