Songs about murder?

I'm making a playlist of murder songs on my Ipod and I'm looking for suggestions for more songs. So far I've included:

The entire Murder Ballads album by Nick Cave
Somebody got Murdered, The Clash
Strange Fruit, Billie Holiday
97 Bonnie and Clyde, Tori Amos and Eminem versions
Run for Your Life, The Beatles
Cocaine Blues
Delia's Gone
Devil's Right Hand
Folsom Prison Blues
The Mercy Seat
Streets of Loredo
Don't Take Your Guns to Town, all by Johnny Cash
Where Did You Sleep Last Night, Nirvana version
Country Death Song, The Violent Femmes
Goodbye Earl, The Dixie Chicks
Psycho Killer, Talking Heads
I Shot the Sherrif, Bob Marley

I have Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen at home, but I haven't loaded it on yet. What else could I add?

Ok, the psychiatrist comment was helpful. I got the idea from my father, who was using some of these songs in a class he tought. It just sparked my imagination, and since I'm a big Johnny Cash fan, I thought would see what I could throw together.

Then I'll listen to my Ipod while I slaughter the little sheep... oops, I didn't mean to type that.

Didn't I hear once that Charles Manson actually recorded a rock album at some point? That's gotta be the holy grail of murder songs...

(What was the class your dad taught? "How To Kill Friends And Influence People?" )

There's a show on CMT called "Controversy" and tonight's episode is all about the history of murder songs. It's on at 11.

Only the initial release of the Body Count CD had this song. It was removed on all subsequent pressings. It's not really that great a song.

Some others that pop into my head...

"Westfall" by Okkervil River
"I Used to Love Her (But I Had to Kill Her)" by Guns N Roses

"Pirate Jenny" by Nina Simone
"Listening Wind" by Talking Heads
"Janie's Got a Gun" by Aerosmith
"Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks

If you want to get all metaphorical, you could use "Killing Me Softly" by Roberta Flack.

He has atleast two albums out, might be more. The one you are thinking about is not what you would expect. He is actually a pretty damn decent songwriter.

The other album that I have is him live in prison...between the gibberish there maybe some murder songs

Wow...first of all ashamed I didn't think of these. Second of all, glad to see someone else loves this band. They've been one of my favorites for about 6 or so years. I've got all their discs, and they're all wonderful. Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today is one of my favorite albums of all time.

For camp value:

Cher - Dark Lady
Bette Midler - Miss Otis Regrets
Carol(e?) King - Smack Water Jack
Vicki Lawrence (or Reba McIntire) - The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia

A song or two from the Chicago Soundtrack, especially the "He Had It Coming" song, although I'm thinking that's not what it's called.

Some good choices here, I'll look into them. "Cell Block Tango," the "He had it coming" song from Chicago was one of the songs my dad used. I've drawing a blank on what the class was, I'll ask him tonight.
