I'd like to think this movie will be good, but it just looks like ID4 again. The one guy who has worked out that bad stuff is about to happen, he has to go to the president and warns him and then bad stuff happens anyhow. Instead of alien invasions it's weather that's coming to get us this time.

I am sooo there. It's like Twister, The Core, Vertical Limit, Deep Impact and I dunno what else rolled into one.

Plus, it has Sela Ward.

Who cares about story. These films are all about the wow factor. This thing looks bad ass.

I'm really looking forward to this one...

That trailer looks even better than the last one I saw in the theater... shows a little more story (hah! like you need one) and some incredible looking shots.

Perhaps all style and no substance... but I'll be there to see it!

I don't think it looks too bad. The Roland Emmerich automatically makes the board snobs go crazy.

Looks awesome!!! Too bad we still have to wait another two and a half months. Plus, I've been in the mood for a good disaster epic for quite awhile.

What makes this unique to me is that there doesnt seem to be a way that they prevent the disasters from happening, that alone makes it unlike ID4, Core, Deep Impact and Armageddon.

I just hope Emmerich doesn't try to have some respectablility and go more on the drama side. That's truly not his strength. On a another hand, this is Emmerich's first non-Devlin movie, so hopefully that means something positive. But really...I just want to see some shit blowed up real good. Lay on the disaster and SFX, that's what Emmerich is good at. I'd be asking for more, I just don't know Emmerich is any good at it. But he knows how to wow in the visual disaster sense.

I think the trailer does everything it's supposed to--it has lots of "wow" moments and money shots, and I'm excited about seeing it. I love disaster flicks, and this looks like a decent enough one.

I still think ID4 is one of the best popcorn summer movies of all time. That film oozed style over substance and seeing it in a packed theater opening day made the film all that more exciting. The film also has some great visual effects that still hold up well today.

If Emmerich could deliver that here (and not deliver us another Godzilla), then I'll be happy in my seat come May.

By the way, that trailer is great. We haven't seen a huge, gigantic "blow tons of shit up" film in a while.

I think it looks awesome. And I'm a big fan of ID4, it's a great "just sit back and watch" action movie and this looks like it will be too. Plus it's got Ian Holm and Dennis Quaid I've been waiting for this for a long time, cuz my cousin worked on some of the special effects (now she's working on I Robot).

This looks like it's gonna be the dumbest movie ever - I can't wait to see it.

I don't think I'm a snob... far from it... but I do detest Roland and I don't think he makes good movies. This one looks like it follows the formula that makes his movies suck, but hopefully the eye candy and cast is enough to make it a fun time.

I love it. Just wish we could see a director's cut that omits all the human drama and just focuses on the disasters . . .

The only downside, for me at least, is Jake Gyllenhall(sp?)
I just don't like him. It just seems like he has the same expression on his face 24/7.
