Let's spend some of my money and help me upgrade my home theater

I would like to put about $5,000 into my home theater. Now keep in mind, this is the ballpark, and obviously I'd like to spend less.

This is what I'd like to get:

TV (Widescreen, HDTV, I'm not interested in a projector at this time as I'd like to use the setup for television as well)
Processor
Amp (if it helps, I am 90% sure about getting the Outlaw 7.1 model)
Subwoofer
Wires/Cabling

I have Cerwin Vega LS series speakers (LS-10 front, LS-8 rear, LS-5 center). I like these speakers for now and feel that they would benefit from a system upgrade. In time, I'll move up to higher end models, but for now, I like their overall tone for movies / music, so I'd rather put the money into things first.

OT question: What kind of speaker should I use as a rear surround (or surrounds, if I go 6.1 or 7.1).

Thanks!

It is hard to make a suggestion if we don't know what kind of tv that you want and how much money to allocate just for a display.

Sorry . I edited it to reflect what I am thinking about. Please let me know what other info would be helpful.

Depending on room layout, I say the following:
Front projector: Sanyo PLV-Z1 (~$1100) or PLV-Z2 (~$1700)
Screen: DIY (~$100-$200)
Processor: Rotel RSP-1098 (~$3000)
Amp: Good choice of the Outlaw 7.1 (~$800)

So that puts you at a bit over $5000. My advice: DON'T cheap out on anything just to get more. HT upgrades are a step-by-step process. If you have more money, or it's time for that next step...

Subwoofer: Anything by SVS. You can go as high as needed, depending on your money situation. If you want to go really high-end, I say go with the Velodyne SPL Series II
Wires/cabling: Do not worry about this that much. For speaker wiring your CV speakers, you could just use 16 guauge Home Depot wire, it won't make any difference (although some people disagree with this). For interconnects, I say use Bluejeans cables. You won't be sorry.

If you want to see some of the same equipment listed in my HT, look at my sig

How about this?

A Home Theater PC ($1000 - performance should be close to a dedicated processor).
TV - Toshiba 51H93 ($2000) + ISF Calibration ($400) or an LCD RPTV like Panasonic 50LC13 or Toshiba 50V500 for about the same price.
Receiver - Outlaw ($800)
Sub - SVS 25-31 PC+ ($800)
