A Good Table for Steel Battalion?

This game should be arriving soon, and I really don't have anywhere to set this controller down to actually play. Does anyone have any suggestions on what they used? It doesn't look like it would work on my lap, or across the arms of my chair, so if anybody can share what they did or bought I would appreciate it.

I am also wondering about this. I should be getting it on Wendsday but I dont really have a good table to play it on. I figure once I get it I will head over to Walmart and see if they have something that works.

I use a keyboard (music) stand. Works very nicely, but it can be pricey.

Yeah, guess I'll have to stop in Target tomorrow. I don't want to break the bank more than I already have for this game, but I don't want the thing collapsing on to my feet either.

I am actually buying the cockpit(well not that one, but a different one from a company in england, but it is setup for a steering wheel for GT4(I will be getting the new gt4 wheel when it comes out)

but for now, I really dont have anything to put this controller, on but my lap, I was thinking about buying a few of those Can-am stroage cabinets, and then use that as a coffee table/steel battalion table

Just a word of advice, I bought my hubby the origional Steel Battalion for Christmas and he hasn't played it for exactly that reason. The controller is too big to set on your lap, we used a floor standing tv tray but it wasn't long enough to support the entire length of the controller, I think the arms of a chair would work great over your lap or a high coffee table without the bottom shelf (so you can use the foot pedals) good luck!

I went to Target today, and I bought this folding table: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B000063SJ6

It feels pretty sturdy, and it better damn well be wide enough fit the controller at 4 feet wide. It's nice that I can just fold it away when done playing, and it is high enough that I can get the arms of my chair under it no problem. It should be a pretty comfortable setup.

I played SB at a friend's house and he used an ironing table. Those are long enough although it's a little wobbly.

I heard you can just put it on your lap while on a sofa. Has anyone tried this?

Ikea Sofa Table. It's about 35-45 bucks.. sturdy and a good height for everything. I use it for racing wheels when playing GT3. Need a bit more weight, but a good looking contemporary table.
