SNL 2/21 -- Host: Christina Aguilera; Musical Guest: Maroon 5

... let's see how good she does. She's the fourth host this season that comes from the Music World.

Good lord, when she sang "Beautiful" I almost died of boredom!

Christina, X-Tina, Tina, whatever, you are a slut, we want to see you be a slut not listen to you sing!

Holy crap! Aguilerra is so awful in this Victorian skit. Is she turning black or what? Couple years ago she didn't talk ghetto like she does now.

Aguilerra has always seemed a performer very uncomfortable in her own skin. Like she has no confidence in her own persona.

I thought she nailed the Sex & the City part pretty well. The game show and victorian skits were so weak.

Musical Act

Who the hell are these guys? Not sure what to make of their performance. They kinda look like radiohead/coldplay but sound like nsync.

This might be the least funny episode all season... that's saying a lot.

I was reading an article and in it she was very uhhh... down... on white males. I believe the term she used was they had "no flava"

She's ghetto, circa 1990. "They're not very funky-fresh, either, boy-ee."

I thought she did well in the Sex and the City skit. Otherwise, she's been...her.

Yeah, it's funny because I didn't know that people from Erie, PA were so ghetto.

Although Christina Aguilera was a much better host than I thought she would be, I still have to go on the show. With the exception of one sketch, there wasn’t much better than mediocre tonight.

Hardball
Same old skit that’s normally done. Nothing more.

Monologue
This was pretty good with CA bringing up a recent Jimmy Fallon Weekend Update joke about her being a skank. “Whore it up.” Then, she started singing. Blah. Those vocal gymnastics just make me laugh.

Sex and the City
Definitely the best sketch of the night. Poehler as Carrie, Rudolph as Charlotte, and CA as Samantha were totally dead-on. Voices and mannerisms were excellent. Dratch didn’t have much to do as Miranda.

”Do You Know Who My Father Is?” game show
Rich kids invoking the names of their fathers creatively. Kind of lame, made more so by Forte and Myers not taking their eyes of the cue cards even once.

TV Funhouse
Fun with Real Audio following Pat O’Brien from ET through life as he continued to ask those asinine questions that lead off the useless stories on that stupid show. Not the best one I’ve seen.

Women of History Channel
CA as a slatternly woman in the 1800s. She really is ugly, isn’t she?

Weekend Update
Some good jokes , and Will Forte doing Black History Month.

You Got Served street dancing
Not funny. No attempt at jokes or a punch line.

CA concert
Just an excuse to have celebrity impersonations. Star Jones, Patti Labelle, and The Osbournes.

Blabbermouth pharamacist
Oddly enough, this is not the first time this character has been on. Folks buy embarrassing items, and Sanz bellows over the PA for a price check. Boring. Was there another bit right before this one? I may have dozed around this time.

Two downers in a row. C’mon SNL, we were doing so well!

At first I was wondering why Christina wasn't the musical guest, but then I realized that she probably wanted to show off the great lessons she learned on sketch comedy during her time on the Mickey Mouse Club Britney and Justin did it, so I guess she thought she would, too. She wasn't a bad host, and the Sex and the City skit was funny. The rest of the show pretty much sucked, but I blame the writers on that. WU was the only other bright spot, but the Will Forte bit on Black History Month went on too long. Looks like next week's a repeat. Does anyone know when the next new show will be and who's hosting?

The A-Rod boyfriend joke was funny and I now know it is Maroon 5 that sings that song and not Justin Timberlake.

I thought Xtina was great! The singing was fine and her Samantha impersonation was right on. She was also natural in the other characters she played. Good hosting job.

Damn! Enough of the thong diaper commercial!
