High Noon (1952) with Tom Skerritt on the DVD

Today I got my order from digitaleyes.net and one of the discs I ordered was High Noon (1952) with Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly. After I got all the stickers off (which took some of the ink off the back cover since the cover was below the plastic of the case), I opened the case and saw that the disc has Tom Skerritt's picture on it - from browsing columbia house's site I knew it was the same as the cover of the High Noon 2000 remake. My first thought was that for some reason a DVD of the 2000 version was put in the packaging for the 1952 version (cardboard cover, paper cover, insert). I checked it to make sure and the content of the disc is the 1952 edition - so I have a disc that has the artwork for the 2000 edition of the movie on one side, but the content of the 1952 edition of the movie on the other side.

Is this problem common? Is this worth anything? I did a search and didn't find anything like this, but my search might not have been that thorough. Also, does anyone know of a site with a scan of what the disc art for the 1952 version is supposed to look like?

This exact same thing happened to me when I ordered it. Got it from DDD. I returned it and they sent me a replacement. Opened the replacement and same thing again. I phoned them and they were understanding and gave me a full refund. Turns out the new Collector's Edition was released shortly after, and I bought that instead. No probs. But the original "High Noon" did have the wrong version disc inside. I think Artisan/Republic is the studio.

I have the Artisan/Republic version of High Noon DVD. And I didn't encounter artwork mixup on the disc.

No, it won't be worth anything.

Well that's interesting! I have the newer CE and Gary is on the disc...

On a related note... > "(which took some of the ink off the back cover since the cover was below the plastic of the case)" < the same thing happened to me... I keep the slipcover on the Amaray (And what's with that slipcover anyhoo? It's the exact same artwork as the cover, kinda pointless IMHO).
