I noticed there are a lot of these posts where someone is asking assistance in identifying a movie on the basis of a few details. So why not just have one thread devoted to the subject?

Right now I'm trying o I.D. a certain movie but I don't have much to go on.

I don't recall the stars of the movie, all I have are some vague details: A newly wed couple moves into a shabby apartment, I think it's the sixties. The husband starts cheating on his wife with a black woman, eventually she becomes pregnant and when her son is older he's some kind of musician. I even think the guy who was cheating married the mistress.

Any ideas?
