Please identify this movie

This movie was a comedy, probably from the 60s. It opens with an announcement to a large room of men that the terms of the will are that the last surviving family member in the room will inherit the entire fortune. The boys all cheer. The elders look angry.

There's a montage of most everyone dying, and I think the movie is about the last three survivors.

I know exactly the movie you're talking about. Sadly I can't remember more details than what you've described.

It takes place in Europe, possibly England.

Sounds like the type of film that Ealing Studios used to make - but they usually had Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers or some such famous actor.

That would be close but the plot he described sounds different. In Kind Hearts, Guinness is trying to inherit the wealth by killing the rest of the family-line. There's no will-reading with that clause.

You're right. I mistook that movie with the correct answer, The Wrong Box (1966).
