Purchasing Abbott & Costello Vol 1 contributes to the production of A&C Monster Sets?

From Cinemascape: On February 10th Universal is releasing the DVD set THE BEST OF ABBOTT & COSTELLO: VOLUME 1 featuring the boys first eight films for the studio. The set retails for $24.98 and I tell you, that’s money well spent. Not only do you get the boys in their heyday, you get laughs, and really aren’t the laughs what it’s all about?

Purchasing the above set will contribute to the production of additional sets which by volume three will start to include ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN and ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET WHOMEVER JUST WALKED IN THE DOOR, which when paired with THE MONSTER LEGACY box set, will enable you to say, "Good Lord I own a lot of films."

I was wondering the same thing. I haven't been able to find any yet. Unless the video quality turns out to be really horrible, this is a great deal. Alot of places will sell this for $19.99 or less. I'm getting it mainly for nostalgia since I watched these every Sunday as a kid.

These sets are probaby one of the best bargains yet - I don't need any convincing at all to grab these the minute they show up!

I am assuming the two discs are double sided DVD-18's. Am I assuming correctly?

This is an awesome deal. Already pre-ordered from CH as a fulfillment selection.

Also check out the upcoming (same day as the A & C box) The Adventures of Ma & Pa Kettle set (also part of Universal's so-called "Franchise Collection") - four hilarious Ma & Pa Kettle films for under $15.00 at most places. I remember watching these as a kid with my parents and loving them.

And the first in the series , The Egg and I
was an A picture starring Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray . Ma and Pa
kettle were supporting players who proved so popular they got their own films.

Francis the Talking Mule Volume 1 is also coming the same time volume 2 of A &C and Ma and Pa .
