Fox's April slate: Musicals, Marilyn & More!

From DVDFile:
Rounding out today's news is the latest batch of new announcements from Fox Home Entertainment, who will serve up an assortment of classic musicals and more Marilyn Monroe this April. Leading their musical promotion is Robert Wise's Star! on April 20th, a much-maligned would-be epic that still earned a Best Picture nod despite critical scorn. This special edition includes a remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby digital 5.1 remix, audio commentary by Wise, the "Star! The Sound of a Legend" original 1968 featurette, two trailers and three TV spots. Retail will list for a mere $14.95. Also a part of the lineup is Call Me Madam, Roxie Hart and the Paul McCartney musical flop Give My Regards to Broad Street. All include remastered transfers in their original theatrical aspect ratios (Broad Street also includes a separate full screen version), plus trailers and on Call Me Madam, an audio commentary by Miles Krueger. Retail will also run you $14.95 a pop.

Marilyn Monroe fans can look forward to four more of her most beloved favorites on April 20th. The new titles in this third wave include Love Nest, Let's Make it Legal, As Young As You Feel and We're Not Married. All are newly remastered in their original theatrical aspect ratios and Dolby 2.0 stereo, and include trailers and restoration comparisons. Retail will be $14.95 each.

Last but not least, Fox will release another wave of $9.95 super-cheapy B-titles on April 20th. The classics include Circuit 2, Detonator, A Good Night to Die, Wasted, Windfall, Killer Buzz, Phase IV and Stranded. Each is in full screen only and include no extras. Try to quell your excitement..
I'll definitely be picking up Roxie Hart, and maybe Star!

Nice news!

Roxie Hart is great fun - I'm surprised it wasn't released last August to ride the coat tails of Chicago.

Looking forward to Roxie Hart. I've caught it a couple times on the Fox Movie Channel. Like marty888 said, it's great fun.

I wonder how Fox got Phase IV since it's a Paramount film.

That's not the 1974 Phase IV film.

Fox sure is scraping the bottom of the Marilyn Monroe barrel.

As people who have seen it know, Roxie Hart is not a musical even though the story was used for the musical Chicago. Originally story came from a non musical play called Chicago. Surprised Fox would release it as part of a musicals promotion.
