component input switcher?
hey all,
just got high def cable (side not: didn't realize that hdhbo didn't broadcast everything in high def, e.g., a lot of content is in 4x3, whats the point of that then?). My set only has 2 component inputs (unfortunately receiver has none ), and I have a dvd player, xbox, and now hd cable box that need to run through those, is there such a thing as a component input switcher, e.g., run two in to one (they'd never be on at the same time obviously).
muchas gracias!

I bought one by Pelican from Software Etc. for 89.00. Comes in black or silver and has 7 inputs. Comes with one set of component cables about 6.5 feet long. and an s-video/composite/stereo cable. Also has movable backlit button markers with pre-lettered nameplates for cable dvd playstation ps2 xbox gamecube etc. I've been happy with mine.

Also, why not just buy an A/V receiver with component inputs?

The Audio Authority, Key Digital, Zektor, and Inday are the only ones under 500 really worth considering if quality is your primary concern. The rest all produce interference of some sort. It may or not be visible depending on how discerning you are, but it really is more than a simple mechanical switch of rcas. If you aren't so fussy there any number of cheaper units that will work.
