Sex and the City Sixth Season
According the thedigitalbits.com, "Warner Bros has announced the release of the 3-disc Sex and the City: The Sixth Season - Part 1 for 5/18. No artwork or other details are as yet available."
I don't understand why they would break the season up into two sets. The entire season, including the episodes that have not aired yet, is only going to be about 20 episodes.

Yeah the discs are way overpriced for the value. I hate how the movie comapnies jack up the prices, and you never get what you pay for. Let shope the extras are substantially better then the previous season releases.

According to the post at TVShowsOnDVD.com, there will be 12 episodes, and extras will be the usual commentary (probably on the typical one or two episodes), and "footage of a Museum of TV and Radio Seminar" with the series' stars. A little something more than usual, but certainly not enough to justify splitting up the season like this to double their profits, not to mention the fact that it won't match the other sets now, either. Bulls***!!!

Unless I see the Season 5 set go below $30 then I will not buy it. I absolutely refuse to pay $40 for 8 episodes, which has to be one of the biggest ripoffs I've ever seen.
That being said, I will not buy the Season 6 set unless it is a decent price as well; I'm tired of getting taken for a ride by HBO with their ridiculously overpriced sets. Can't wait to see what the final season will cost when it comes to dvd.

I was shocked to see that HBO was dividing the sixth season into two sets. I was hoping that May would see an end to the series releases. Now, HBO has figured out that they can make more money this way. HBO will probably explain that the last eight episodes could not be prepared for DVD by May so they kindly decided to release the first twelve in May. I would much rather have waited until Fall for the entire season. This burns me up. However, I am not going to not complete my collection because of this.

Season 6: Part 2 will also have 8 episodes, so we'll probably be looking at the same situation as with Season 5... namely, a $50 SRP for 8 half-hour episodes.

You guys are kidding! You don't like the extras on the other disks! What that little quiz game on the fourth season (I think the forth), didn't occupy you for hours on end. Man you are all a little to picky!

This is really terrible. The only thing to do is not to buy it at that price.
I would not have bought season 5 except for CC price error.
It is odd that it is cheaper to buy a full season of Friends then it is to buy 8 or 12 half hours of Sex and the City. Both are part of Warner Bros.

wow, plus the packaging is completely different!!!!! that's what pisses me off the most! the price and the split is irritating but they are milking it, but to change the packaging this far in the game is ridiculous!!!!!

Yes the packaging is different but so is the S2 package (color wise) so I'm not that upset about it.

My hope would be for more extras on the second set. At the VERY LEAST all the multiple ending Michael Patrick King filmed for the show BETTER be on there! (Rumor is only he and the editor will know for sure which version is the real ending that will be broadcast.)
I mean compare this to OZ which has a MSRP of about $65 for EIGHT EPISODES!

HBO does this with their big shows. There is no way that a 13 episode season of The Sopranos should be priced at a SRP of $99.99. That is insane! Sex And The City is being handled the same way.

I bought season 5 w/a $30 coupon for $45, so I only paid $15- long story- not knowing that there were only 3 DVDs inside. I'd have passed had I known that.
My GF, who is the reason I bought it, told me that she doesn't want season 6- for any price- after the season 5 screw-job...so I'm not buying it either.
