Whats the most disturbing movie you've seen

For me it would have to be Black Hawk Down, or Full Metal Jacket, because they really happened. I never have found fictional movies disturbing, because they are fiction, it just makes me wonder about the person who wrote it.

No question, Requiem For A Dream. Truly sad.

That'd be followed closely by Vulgar.

I certainly have to rank Irreversible way up there. My jaw was on the ground almost the whole time I watched this movie. I am still bothered by some of the images I saw.

Requiem For A Dream
Schindler's List

I don't know if I could ever watch these again. Schindler is a great movie, but knowing all those things really happened, just not easy to take.

Full Metal Jacket is not a true story. It's based on the ficional novel "The Short Timers" by Gustav Hasford.

My List:

Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood
The Wedding Planner
You've Got Mail

Happiness

After watching it, I had to think hard if I wanted to have it in my collection. I was worried what other people would think, who happened to see the movie. I ended up keeping it, because it's a great movie. But really, it's very disturbing - much more than requiem for a dream, I think.

Hmm, I actually did do a search on that, and I did not find that thread. Actually they are not really the same. That thread is about disturbing scenes, while I'm asking about the whole movie. I'm probably just splitting hairs.

I actually meant "Black Hawk Down". However my father was in Vietnam, and hearing his stories... "Full Metal Jacket" was pretty close.

VinceW---What do you think of your Denon 3803, thats on my short list of receivers that I'm looking at.

Mike Leigh's Naked comes to mind, but there are many more I can't remember.

Crash

I've seen Salo -- and it's really disgusting -- but I think Crash (NC-17 version) is far more disturbing.
