Boston Public to go on hiatus during February sweeps
In its place? Well since we are talking about FOX, yep, reality television.
Re: 'That's Just Wrong' - what a blatent rip-off (right down to the title) of a Howard Stern bit.
I will definitely watch Man vs Beast 2. That was great stuff last year. They really need to get Tony Kornheiser to provide color commentary though.

FOX Sends 'Boston Public' to Hiatus
By Brian Ford Sullivan
CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX is hoping animal mating habits, a man who puts a live snake in his mouth then pulls it back through his nose, and a monkey competing against a man in a climbing contest will bring a pulse to its sagging Friday schedule as the network outlined a host of new reality specials for the month of February. The specials will take the place of "Boston Public" on Friday nights beginning February 6.
Here's a breakdown of what to expect in the coming weeks:
-- "That's Just Wrong" (Friday, February 6 at 9:00/8:00c) - LMNO Productions offers up this one-hour variety show "that features original stunts, contests and video clips of amazing and sometimes unbelievable behavior," according to a network press release. Among the featured stunts are a man who puts a live snake in his mouth then pulls it back through his nose, alive and putting various objects in a jet engine and seeing what happens when the engine starts up. Twins Elaine and Diane Klimaszewski host the special.
-- "National Geographic: When Animals Attract" (Friday, February 13 at 9:00/8:00c) - The mating habits of the wild kingdom will be the focus of this special, originally developed for the FOX-owned National Geographic Channel.
-- "Man vs. Beast 2" (Friday, February 20 at 9:00/8:00c) - A sequel to last year's special from LMNO Productions in which animals compete against humans in bizarre contests. Among the new events: a monkey vs. man climbing contest and a long-jumper vs. a leopard.
-- "Test the Nation 2" (Friday, March 5 at 8:00/7:00c) - Leeza Gibbons and Mark L. Walberg are back to host the second installment of FOX's national I.Q. test. The two-hour special will once again "provide a new opportunity for a studio audience, celebrity panelists and home viewers to submit their scores and contribute to a tabulated statistical analysis of the nation's I.Q. Results will be used to calculate factors such as which city or gender is the more intelligent," according to a network press release.
Following "Test the Nation 2," the new dramedy "Wonderfalls" will take over the Friday, 9:00/8:00c hour for at least seven weeks. The news means "Boston Public" will apparently be off of FOX's schedule until at least April 30, the first Friday of the May sweeps period. Reality clip shows "Totally Outrageous Behavior" and "World's Craziest Videos" however will remain on Fridays at 8:00/7:00c and 8:30/7:30c respectively for the time being.

It's a shame too. This has been its best season since S1. Kind of strange for a DEK show to come back strong after jumping the shark.

Another important piece of info in there is the fact that Fox is putting what is probably another amazing show, Wonderfalls, in the Friday night death slot. Created by the same guy who created Dead Like Me and including one of the best writer/directors from Angel, Tim Minear, Wonderfalls is supposed to be possibly the best new show all season. I've also heard that it's a little similar to Joan of Arcadia which is annoying since it'll air right after Joan.

According to their episode titles ("Chapters") they are only at about 76 episodes-- far short of the "magic 100" needed for syndication.
I knew this show was a goner as soon as they moved it to Friday. Too bad this season has been pretty good.

All I got is Joan of Arcadia on Fridays (though I have "Life with Bonnie" and "Hope and Faith" recorded, but I rarely watch the episodes unless I run out of stuff to watch), and Ed (for 3 more weeks), and then Miss Match returns.

Bill Maher is back on HBO now-- Friday nights at 8 pm.
I thought I heard that when Miss Match comes back it might be in another time slot--(Wednesday at 8?) Maybe it will take the place of the Apprentice when that ends.

With The Handler and BP exiting, not much left worth recording on Friday nights. Just JAG.
