Heard this on the radio this morning, so I thought I'd pass it along. He was born on January 18th, 1904 in Bristol, England.

I for one love his movies.

My favorite of his is North by Northwest, and Charade comes in a close second.

But I have to say that I really enjoyed Father Goose. I got the two-pack for my wife for her birthday a few years ago and we watched it together. What a great film. Poor guy... having to deal with all those girls.

What Cary Grant films have you loved... and what would you recommend?

There's so many. Off the top of my head, I'd say "Bringing Up Baby" and "The Philadelphia Story." You know who really reminds me a lot of Cary Grant nowadays? Hugh Jackman. There is something about him that really brings to mind Grant's style. Most don't know it, but Jackman is a really gifted comic actor. Just thought I'd throw that out.

Grant replied with another telegram, this one reading: "Old Cary Grant fine. How you?"

That's why TCM is showing Cary Grant movies all day. "Bringing Up Baby" is just about to start and it is one of my favs (too bad it's not on DVD yet). I love the comedies but I think my all-time fav is "Notorious". The chemistry between Grant and Bergman was just electric and Hitchcock's direction was dead-on.

He's definately one of the greatest actors ever. I really can't think of a current actor who has as good a group of movies except for maybe Tom Hanks.

Now to be fair the only Grant movies I've seen are the Hitchcock movies. That being said he didn't seem to be a very good actor. Maybe I'm saying it wrong but he seemed to play the same character in all 3 movies.

How funny, I didn't realize this anniversary was coming up but I just so happened to watch "To Catch a Thief" last night.

I think my favorite performance is still in "Philadelphia Story". But there's no denying his charm in "Charade".

TCM also aird Suspicion on Sunday. I haven't seen that movie in years. Sadly I don't have cable so I missed it. I might have to go out and rent it if I can find it since it isn't available on DVD yet.
