Why is the Ring 2 opening in November??
Halloween is to horror films what Thanksgiving/Christmas is to family films. The first one opened a week before Halloween and did phenomenal business, I can't understand the logic behind opening a potential blockbuster after the peak release time.

Probably because:
Last year Gothika opened in november and made money.
Also, This october The Ring 2 would have too much competition in the horror genre.
Plus, hollywood is stupid.

Spielberg, Craven, or Sam Mendes might take over as director???? Maybe Craven but you've got a better chance of Orson Welles directing it than the other two.

A group of friends on their way to a college football game falls prey to a pair of murderous brothers in an abandoned small town. They discover that the brothers have expanded upon the area’s main attraction – the House of Wax – and created an entire town filled with the wax-coated corpses of unlucky visitors. Now the group must find a way out before they too become permanent exhibits in the House of Wax.
August: AVP, Blade: Trinity, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sound of Thunder (Kingsley), and Man Thing

Am I expecting a Ring 2? No. The first (American) remake was enough. I really didn't like the first one as I really wasn't fond of putting cash down to basically watch a scene-by-scene remake of Ring(u) and The Ring Virus.
All I know is that when this sequel comes out, there's a greater chance of Ring 2 and Ring 0 (maybe Rasen and Ring Virus, let's throw out the Japanese TV movie and television shows on DVD while we're at it) coming out on DVD from DreamWorks; and if DreamWorks puts the audio/video quality on par with Ring(u), then I'll be happy.

I'm glad to hear this will have nothing to do with the Japanese Ring sequels, both of which are so terrible. Maybe they'll get a clue and try to adapt Rasen.
