L&O: Payback (1/14/04)
Haven't seen Jack that mad in awhile.
Then again, the final 'shot' of the show didn't help.
Makes me wonder if that ever happens in real life. The USADA makes one person walk just draw out someone else, and have the vermin do their jobs for them.
Makes me sick if it really happens.

Oh, i'm sure it does. That did piss me off too. Escpecially since what'sherface was right about the UC agent being able to still get dirt.
Then again, I was only half paying attention to the beginning of the show. I really didn't stop what I was doing until the hitman was on the stand.
It's funny...a while ago, someone implored das for the secret to watching hundreds of hours of televison. One of the things das said was that there were shows that you didn't necessarily need to pay attention to. Having them on in the background was sufficent. He gave L&O as an example. When I read that, I thought he was out of his mind...especially with all the "twists" that they're so fond of sprining on the viewer.
Well, with L&O, I find myself doing that now. Out of the three L&Os, this one gets the least attention.

It was nice to see Jack mad for a change and have him mix it up with the D.A. Other than that, I really wasn't all that impressed.

I don't see why Jack was mad.
Jack's way: Assassin gets a sweet deal, Old man gets some prison time .
Other way: Assassin does more time, old man gets 'death penalty' his son gets death penalty or life in prison for murder 1. Sweet. Society certainly won, well, except for the nurse.

[meaningless nitpick type trivia] They got a gun part correct. Technically, the way NY's pistol permit system works does make it so the gun range would not be allowed to let the guy shoot a handgun he doesn't own, so when he said the range owner broke the rules and let him shoot his (range owner's) gun that was correct. point of my post is that it is nice to see a show about laws/legal system not screw up something.

Undercuts his ability to deal with defendants and their attorneys re: plea bargains in the future. Plus as he said, who's to say that more innocent people will not be in danger if the old man continues to live free.
