Original Leged of Zelda and MORE on GBA Feb 14th (Japan)

Nintendo announced they will release a new Famicom Mini series for GameBoy Advance on February 14, for 2000 yen each. Famicom Mini is a remake of the classic Famicom (NES) titles, ten games are announced so far:

Super Mario Bros (Nintendo)
Donkey Kong (Nintendo)
Excite Bike (Nintendo)
Legend of Zelda (Nintendo)
Ice Climber (Nintendo)
Pac-Man (Namco)
Xevious (Namco)
Mappy (Namco)
Bomberman (Hudson)
Star Soldier (Hudson)

Nintendo announced they will release a new Famicom styled GameBoy Advance SP in Japan on February 14, for 12,500 yen, the system will be released simultaneously with the Famicom Mini series.

I don't see any reason for this except to milk their franchises for everything its got, unless the e-reader was not released in Japan, which I don't think is the case.

And credit to IGN or where ever you pasted this info from would be nice.

Japanese games will work on US gameboys, yes? Xevious, as far as I know has never been released on the Gameboy. I'd like to get this for my father, its his fav game of all time.

I don't think those games are going to sell well at all individually. Those old NES games should come in volume sets with at least five games on one GBA cart. Cool looking GBA system though.

That's a little under $20 each. Yikes.

Why would anyone get the Mini SMB when they get SMB Deluxe?

News from Magic Box, sorry I posted it after I was already supposed to be asleep.

Yeah.. I really dig this idea.. I LOVE the fact that they come in little mini replica boxes of the original Famicom boxes. I'll be picking up Zelda for damn sure.. maybe, maybe Xevious. I hope they release more titles.. I think this will be popular in Japan.

Now if we can get Zelda 2, Kid Icarus and Metroid up on there!

Lame, IMO.

They cold easily fit those all on one cart, rather than a game a piece to milk gamers for around $20 a pop.

So glad I have a flashcart with all the above games (incl. Xevious, Kid icarus, Zelda 1&2, etc.). Thank you Pogoshell and PocketNES! No fancy Famicon boxes, but I think there's a Famicon SP in my future....

Updated.. better picture above.

Here's a comparison of the 20th Anniversary Fami-SP and the new mass marker Fami-SP:

Yes it's limited.. there are a bunch selling on Yahoo Auctions Japan now.. I kind of want to get one because it looks badass and is sure to be a pretty rare collectible down the line.

Oh.. you know what's crazy? The Famicom controllers are even smaller thatn the US Nintendo ones. They are TINY!! Also, permanently attached to the machine.
