The early 8 p.m. EST episode is a repeat (Warrick has 24 hours to find new evidence to put some creep away).
The 9 p.m. episode (normal timeslot) is a new episode.

Actually, there IS a way to tell on the CBS site, but it's not so obvious.
On the main page (www.cbs.com) in the center column is a spot for "TONIGHT ON CBS". If you mouseover each show name, it will pop a little description right underneath, which will say "NEW" next to the time of the new show. Examples:
Mouse over the first CSI listed:
Mouse over the second CSI listed:
I usually just check these things by checking my TiVo. Or the schedules posted at www.zap2it.com .

I'm glad my Tivo picks up these things.

Yep - CBS is trying to drive an early stake into The Apprentice by scheduling a new CSI vs the premiere tonight and a new one on a special night (next Wed at 8 as indicated) to hurt the regular timeslot premiere of Apprentice.
I'll have to wait for a re-run of that CSI next Wednesday since I already have Smallville and That 70s Show to deal with. I hate when networks pull this crap.
