Average Joe: Hawaii 1/5/04
The start of a new run of Average Joe. This time set in Hawaii. The show was supposedly completely taped prior to the airing of the original. So, who is watching this?

I am. And laughing my ass off. Man they sure picked a lot of douches this time!
The best line so far was what the guy with the glasses and the goatee said about the Chinese guy. "He wears a bandana, I don't know if he knows that's a gang thing or not."

So am I.
Though from the outside, most look more "normal" than the last group.

Kind of funny.
Didn't the last girl kick off all the fat guys first, but kept some of the socially retarded ones around? This girl seemed to get rid of the worst social retards and kept the fattys... until next week anyways

I loved the pattern that was repeated throughout the intros...
Average Joe contestant: "A lot of people make the mistake of thinking I'm a geek, but I'm really not!"
Cue footage of guy doing something really geeky.
I like that there isn't a 'Zack' in the Joe group, which should make the dynamic more interesting once the real *******s show up.

Wow, I was actually impressed with how well she regained her composure after the initial shock. I thought she carried herself with a great deal of grace and dignity. Even more so than Melana.
The big question though is, now that we're expecting them to throw in some good looking guys somewhere along the way, will they?

All I have to say is, it sucks to be her. She will be in a no win situation next week. If she chooses a good looking guy, she will look like a bitch and a sellout. If she chooses an ugly guy, she will be denying and lying to herself. So she's pretty much screwed!

I hope David sticks around a while for entertainment value. I don't know how she'd be able to stand him though. I hope the guy with the pompadour and receding hairline saw the light. The only look worse than that was Botti's teeth. I'm surprised the Boston guy is still in it. I cringed every time he opened his mouth. His accent was a wicked pisser.
I think it will be a more interesting show this time around because some of these guys are just loony, while the first batch were mostly laid back.
I don't think she has to worry as much about picking one of the good looking guys if they have a decent personality. A lot of these guys she has to pick from are pretty wacky no matter what they look like. Phuc!

What did Boston ask her in the photo booth? I didn't catch it, but after that he said she wasn't interested in him.
Yeah, these guys are so awkward it is painful to watch. The "Adam Sandler" look-a-like could hardly speak. The guy who read the poem: "run your fingers through my hair" . Oh my.

[pointing at her in a really cool manner with both hands and slightly bending his knees]

However... especially after the last one, where (by the time I tuned in) Malena was being really nice to the Joes that were left, and she ended up picking the pretty boy. Do these guys even stand a chance? I mean, they picked some real troglodytes this time around. I can't wait until the studs come on the show, they seem like a bunch of jerks!
