Holy cow! Star Wars - Rebel Strike Rogue Squadron III $29.99 for GC!
Best Buy has this featured as a $20 price drop in the ad for sales starting tomorrow. At $24.99 after the $5 coupon, that maybe be tough to pass up!
I wonder why this got so inexpensive so quickly?

The single player is severely lacking, when your on foot it is really bad but the flight game makes up for the shortcomings of that IMO.
The single player level's are also very easy to get thru as well and doesnt really hold a replay value for me..
That Said...
The co-op/mulit-player mode's was the best part of the game and is worth the 29.99 price..
Edited: I think a lot of the gamers who were looking to buy it, held off after reading the bad reviews it got in different magazines.. I know i almost did.

Honestly I preordered the game, played through the first two levels, and I have been playing other games since. It's not that good of a game, I mean it is ok, but has a been there done that vibe.

Well, I can go ahead and scratch Rebel Strike off my GameCube want list. Picked it up just now at a Wal-Mart, who price-matched* Best Buy for $29.99.
*Yeah, they price-matched it alright, but not without a hassle. Since the regular price for it at Wal-Mart is $49.99, that's a $20 difference, which apparently is too large a difference for the regular cashiers to do on their own. So she called over a supervisor or something for a manual override, who, when she saw the Best Buy ad, very nearly refused to do it, due to the kind of-semi-not really confusing ad. Rebel Strike is pictured in a box along with two Sonic the Hedgehog games. At the top of the box, above all three games, the print reads "TRIPLE REWARD ZONE POINTS with these 2 SONIC games".
So the supervisor saw that, and thought that Rebel Strike was only $29.99 if you bought the other two Sonic games (which, incidentally, don't even come out until Thursday). I told her no--that Rebel Strike has nothing to do with the Sonic games, and after a few anxious moments, she finally caved, due in part, I'm sure, to the line that was growing behind me.
So, anyway, if any of you are planning to take the Best Buy ad to Wal-Mart to price match, be prepared for maybe a little bit of grief. . .

Since the point of this thread was NOT to defend or bash "RS," let's get back on topic, shall we?
Were "Bounty Hunter" and "Clone Wars" priced at $49.99 when they were originally released? If so, how many months passed before their retail prices dropped to $29.99?

The on foot missions are mediocre at best, and the single player game is way easier than past incarnations. I traded it off after a month, so I'd just rent it of you're only going to play the single player.
However, there's a ton of stuff to do in multiplayer, both competitive and cooperative so it's worth $30 if you have someone to play it with.

I think the reviews of most of the DVD Talkers are far better than other places like EGM, GamePro, and other boards I've been to.

The co-op in this game rocks! Definitly worth it for $25 just for that. The single player isn't as bad as people make it out to be, its just that the on foot missions left a bad taste in their mouths. The flying missions are cool, as well as piloting an AT-ST and speederbikes.

The game is worth it for the speeder bike races-period. Hauling through Endor in first-person view is thrilling to say the least. The multiplayer dogfights are fun and the vehicle based missions are easier than the last game. The foot missions are the only drawback (as previously stated) but you get through them. I just wish I had surround sound (to go with my 46 widescreen). I want to hear that AT-AT hit the snow next to me. In progressive scan this game is a sight to behold. MTFBWY.

Fry's Electronics here in Sacto Ca had Rebel Strike III listed for $19.99 in their saturday ad in the Sacto Bee. The price should still be good until tonight. Just an FYI for people in Sacto, Ca.

Well worth $25-$30
Despite the mediocre reviews, I got RSIII when it first came out. The on foot levels ARE pretty crappy (Dagobah, I renounce thee!) and it really makes me wonder how they let the game out the door with such dodgy controls. But the flight missions IMO are more nuanced and graphically impressive and just plain fun than those in RSII (which were pretty darn good to begin with). The new vehicle portions (AT-STs, tauntauns, speeder bikes, etc.) are very well done and add a lot to the game's scope. It would have been a slam dunk if they would have just divided the game between the ground vehicles and the space vehicles and left the on foot stuff out entirely.
The multiplayer is awesome, allowing you to tackle the entirety of RSII (including bonus missions) with a partner. There are also dogfights and turf wars in a number of cool environments with a fleet of cool ships and upgrades to be unlocked.
I don't regret paying $45 for this, so you shouldn't think twice about paying $25.
