Buy Prince of Persia, get Splinter Cell for free

Link

Ubisoft announced a January promotion in which those who purchase any version of Prince of Persia will get a free copy of Splinter Cell for the same platform.

Here's something to look forward to in 2004: Ubisoft has announced that, during the month of January, those who buy its highly acclaimed action adventure game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, will get a free copy of its highly acclaimed stealth action game, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, as a bonus. The deal, which will be available "at all major retailers" according to Ubisoft, covers the PC, Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 versions of Prince of Persia; depending on which version gamers choose, they'll get the respective version of Splinter Cell. Specific details on how the bonus game will be redeemed were not available, and presumably, those who've already purchased Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will not be eligible for the free offer. However, those holding off on picking up copies of both games will be in luck.

Cool! I still want both of these titles for the GameCube...

(feel bad for people who already bought Prince of Persia though)

Nice. Pair this with one of those bestbuy 5$off and it'll be very sweet.

Now the only question is, do i get it for gamecube, or PS2

I was angry that I didn't have the extra cash to pick-up Prince of Persia, and that Splinter Cell still had too high of a MSRP, but not any more... Excellent deal, and my GC collection is mighty appreciative...

What is this $5 off Best Buy thing everyone keeps talking about? I just got an Xbox, so I'm not caught up to speed on all these things yet.

Gamer Gift Cards. They have a 5$off (19.99 min. pur.) coupon on the back. Charge them for 5 bucks, 10 bucks. Whatever. And then just use the coupon on the back and the gift card that you just put money on, and you get 5 bucks off just about any game. Sometimes you'll have to go through the line twice (once to charge the card and get the coupon, and another to get the game, using the coupon and the gift card) Most times the CSR will understand what you're doing and let you do it all in one swoop.

Last time UBI Soft had this kind of promo, the free game had to be mailed to you. I actually had to call the company several times to get the company they had sending out the games to speed it up, as it had already been 3 months and no game.

Hopefully with this promo, they give us the free game when we buy POP. Nintendo did it with their buy a GC get a free game/gameboy player, UBI Soft should be able to do the same.

I went to EB Games and Circuit City yesterday, both were not even aware of the Ubisoft offer... I ended up ordering it direct from Ubisoft's website to take advantage of this offer.

Was considering buying Prince of Persia anyway, but this offer sealed it for me. I'm glad I waited!

That's strange how the Gamecube version is excluded in the CC flyer. It's states PS2 and X-Box only.

Deal went into effect already back in December at Walmart in Canada. For us it was $55 cdn for the two. Sweet deal!

They come bundled together, so its no mail away or anything. 2 seperate games in their respective cases just shrinkwrapped together.

Gamecube was included as well here.

Strange... it clearly states on Ubisoft's site that the offer is for PC and GCN as well...

The sad thing is that this probably means that this great game, which got incredible reviews from all corners, probably did pretty poorly this holiday season,,,

I'm tempted to get PoP now. But I was really only willing to pay 14.99 for SC and that means PoP will come out to $37ish, I was hoping to wait till it hit below $30. So tempting heh.

The PS2 and Xbox versions will be $39.99 at Circuit City with free Splinter Cell.

I'm actually in the opposite position. I'm mildly interested in PoP, but not in Splinter Cell at all. One of my friends may split the set with me though.

Damn, sweet deal. I played Splinter Cell demo on a PC a while back, it was fun. Have not played Prince of Persia but from all the rave reviews I'm definitely interested. Might actually pick this up, if they are bundled together.

Man, my wallet and free time is hurting. i want PoP and this would be a good deal, but I just got Top Spin, KOTOR, GTAoublePak, Midway Treasures, Namco treasures, and I still haven't mastered Mario Kart yet.

And then Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man Anniversary in Feb.

I might have to wait til PoP hits the $15 price point.

The temptation was to great. I picked them up this morning heh, had to go to 5 different stores though. First Wal-Mart only had the PS2 versions and they had no clue about the other platform deals, second Wal-Mart had no deals out and I didn't bother asking them, Circuit City had no copies of SC for GC and no deal out, EB said it started on the 5th and they won't break street date, Gamestop sold them no problem.

Picked mine up this morning no problems, not that many copies of the xbox version though. Still what they have should move slow considering not one sign was up about it. Thousand copies of Splinter Cell for the ps2 and maybe 5 copies of the ps2 Prince of Persia, gave me a good laugh.

Splinter Cell by itself is now $5, with free shipping. The price is listed at $19.99, but when you choose to add it to your cart, it shows up as $5.
