GCN Pelican S-Video Cables Problems?

I have a 27" Sony VVega and, have, in the last 2 nights purchased and exchanged for another set of the Pelican S-Video Cables for the GCN and attempted to use them and, man, they looked like utter crap! The picture quality was better with the regular Nintendo AV cables in both cases. This is the first S-video anything I have attempted to hook up to the TV, as I am using the component input for my PS2.

Has anyone else had similar problems, or suggestions? Since the cables have a just standard composite video connector too, I will try attaching that to another input on my TV to try and rule out the port on the TV.

I have said it a thousand times before and I'll say it another thousand times for sure:

"THIRD PARTY EQUIPMENT IS SHIT!"

Yes.. it does suck that you can only get an official S-Video or Component cable for the GC from Nintendo's website.. but it's STILL worth it. I bought 2, one for the Cube and one for the SNES.

Unfortunately, I was going to do that, but, I didn't want to have to spend $20+ with the shipping when I could spend ~$10.00. How long did it take them to ship the cable to you?

No problem. We have a Wega and I can say that you WILL notice the difference with S-Video, so the only thing I can think of (maybe because I'm biased) is cheap 3rd party cable.

Hopefully you can take it back so you don't end up wasting $10 instead of your inital plan to save $10.

yeah, taking it back tonight. I already completed the order on the cable from nintendo. My wife and I were blown away with the difference between composite and component on the PS2, so, I'm sure the experience will be similar this time as well.
