I accidently sent a copy of my Zoro Superbit back to Netflix and I was wondering if I could get a copy of the movie cd only (no packaging or sf disc 2)?

my guess is no but I thought id ask.

And no, you can't expect a company to go to the expense of replacing a disc because you ****ed up. Even if you pay them something for the disc and shipping, they would have to have someone spend their time getting a copy of the disc, packaging it up, probably fill out some paper work and mail it to you.

Suck it up and buy a replacement.

You can contact Netflix but in all seriousness I wouldn't expect much...

This exact same thing happenned to me a year ago. I accidentally sent back my Fantastic Planet DVD in the Metro (don't laugh...) DVD return envelope.

I ended up contacting Netflix (via phone and e-mail) and they told me they would put out an "alert" within their company on all Metro DVD's that were returned. Essentially saying that they would check all incoming Metro DVD envelopes as they were returned in order to send me back my Fantastic Planet DVD.

To make a long story short, they never found it. I gave them a month and then I basically did the opposite in order to get my DVD back.

I rented Fantastic Planet and returned the Metro DVD in the return envelope.

Is this the MOST ethical solution to the problem? No, not really. But the end result was they got their DVD back and I got my DVD back.

There was one consideration though. The DVD I got back wasn't as well kept (obviously) as the one I had sent them. I chalked this up to it being my mistake and moved on. The DVD wasn't that bad but their were some minor scratches on it.

I still want to know what a movie CD is. Is it the same as a VCD?

I think movie cds are refering, to movies that can only be played on a computer and need a video player to play them. they are like vcds,but can only be played on a pc. i have a few of the snl movie cds on my computers,since you cant get it on vcd or dvd,never the less. for more info on moviecds,go to wwww.moviecd.com.

I have done this with a PC game once. I called the company and had to send them proof of purchace with $5.00 and they sent me a new copy of the game. Might be worth a try. Depending on the price of the DVD, it might not even be worth it.

Ok, thnx for all who were complete pricks in answering this, as I said, the answer would probably be no and that would suffice.

The "Movie CD" is the Superbit DVD that contains the movie only and not the Spec. Features DVD that it came with.

Thanks for your helpfull answer Silver Screen I did indeed get the same empty promis from Netflix. To bad they dont have the superbit Zoro or I would use that same method you did.

I know I made a dumb mistake but I was just taking a shot in the dark that you might be able to get a discounted replacement since it would be without the packaging or the spec. features disc.

Here's what might be a semi-useful answer....

I know that at least one of the major studios (Buena Vista) will replace damaged discs for $10. Not sure if they require you to send in the broken disc, or if you can just prove your purchase some other way (their site offers a phone number to call, isn't real specific otherwise).

Not sure if Sony/TriStar has a similar program, but it might be worth investigating....

Disney/BV will replace a disc only if you send back the defective disc.

But Zoro Superbit is CTS, not BV.

What use are your back-up copies then? The back-up copies are the ones that make public appearances. The actual dvds are tucked away never to see the light of day again.
