Good movies about personal redemption?

I was wondering what good movies there are about personal redemption. I was thinking along the lines of a movie like "The Mission." I found DeNiro's performance to be powerful, and moving. Any other movies of that message and magnitude?

Good suggestion, Beaver. I have that DVD, and it's a great movie. Maybe I should be a bit more specific, though. . . I'm looking for movies that the character has to change from their former life and struggle with the decisions they've made in the past. I guess I should of been more specific with "personal redemption".

In keeping with the season, any decent version of A Christmas Carol.

Don't you mean "Road to Perdition"?

Some of you might find my reccomendation odd but I was really moved by "The Bear".

Was it a movie of "redemption" per se? Depending on your perspective when watching the movie I think it is.

I don't want to give away anything but I do suggest renting this movie if you like these types of movies.

Another one that may or may not fit into this category depending on what you define as "redemption" is...

"Jeremiah Johnson"

Road to Perdition and Road to Redemption appear to be different movies

John Woo's The Killer maybe? I think John Woo actually has several Hong Kong movies that would fit some themes of redemption.
The Bourne Identity to a degree also.
