"Volcano High." What are the Chances..?
I've been meaning to pick up "Volcano High," preferably the 2-disk Korean uncut version. But with this awful-looking MTV hip-hop redubbed version airing on TV next week, does anyone think that a proper US SE might find it's way to stores, with both the original subtitled audio track and this new Snoop Dog special?
Of course, I could be prematurely codemning this MTV thing before seeing it -- maybe the new music soundtrack will add a lot -- but either way I wouldn't want to be stuck with just the rap edition.
Maybe next they will redub "Audition" with Hilary Duff...

Just get the Korean version. It looks great, it has DTS along with good subtitles - the supplements aren't subtiled, but you can still understand what they're about. And it's cheap.

The current version available now on DVD here in the states is a two-disc set from Tai Seng which is just basically the Megastar R0 set with the Tai Seng sticker on it.
The first disc includes the "international version" of the film over the "Korean version" (the "international version" is 100 minutes and was released across the world, while the "Korean version" runs 120 minutes). The film is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and Korean Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 sound.
The extras on disc two include deleted scenes (10 minutes worth, all of these scenes are featured in the "Korean" version), numerous production featurettes, numerous film-to-storyboard comparisons, a music video, and trailers for the film.
If you don't have a region-free player, this edition is the way to go. If you do have a region-free player, go with the Korean version for containing the most "complete" version of the film.
EDIT: BTW, the disc contains English subtitles on the film and on the deleted scenes. Nowhere else through. All of the extras on the DVD are included in the Korean DVD (which also has a few more extras).

Plus:
- We get the Uncut Korean version.
Negative:
- STEREO?
Uh, I'll keep my R3 (uncut) and R0 (international cut) editions. I get fine English subtitles PLUS DD and DTS 5.1; and no MTV version.

Wow, the MTV version is 81 minutes from the original version of 121 minutes.
Korean Stereo??? WTF is that.
I have been interested to watch this movie for a while and I'm thankful that at least they are releasing the original Korean cut.
Does anybody know who's the studio releasing this movie here in R1?
