NBC to Burn Off 'Boomtown' Episodes
By Brian Ford Sullivan

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC is giving viewers a chance to catch a glimpse of "Boomtown" one last time as the Peacock announced this week it will burn off three of the four remaining produced episodes of the series on Saturday, December 27. All three installments will air back-to-back that night beginning at 8:00/7:00c.

At least we'll have December 27.

I remember then doing the same with 'Freaks and Geeks' four years ago.

Cool, I'll watch 'em, but it still doesn't make up for that fact that Zucker and Co. are complete assclowns.

Clearly this means it isn't ever coming back, but at least we get these.

While we're on the NBC cancelling good shows subject - whatever happened to Kingpin? I liked that show, I realize NBC didn't cancel it, just didn't order any more episodes or something? There were a lot of open storylines on that show.

I'll take more Boomtown any way I can get it! Certainly hope the 4th episode finds it's way on the schedule some time.

I'm just happy we'll get to see the last few episodes which is more than FOX did for Firefly. I'm still pissed NBC cancelled the show in the first place but there's a whole thread devoted to that particular rant.

I hope we get a "Complete Sereis" DVD which includes last season and all the aired/un-aired episodes from this short season.

NBC Adds Final 'Boomtown' Episode
By Brian Ford Sullivan

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- In a follow up to an earlier story, NBC has contacted us with the news that the Peacock plans to air the final episode of "Boomtown," titled "The Big Picture," on Sunday, December 28 at 10:00/9:00c.

The news comes on the heels of the network's previous announcement that it plans to burn off the remaining installments of the acclaimed drama as part of a three-hour marathon on Saturday, December 27 starting at 8:00/7:00c (read the story).

The addition of "The Big Picture" on December 28 means that all the produced episodes of the series will air.

Of course, this does not bode well for The Lyon's Den either, since this final Bootown episode will be airing in that timeslot.

Glad to hear that I'll get one last Boomtown fix before it's gone forever.

Just bringing this thread back to remind everyone. One last viewing of the corpse.

Why did we lose this wonderful show? It's just not fair.

If only they had called it Law & Order : Boomtown.

Great episodes tonight. The 1st episode with the "wannabe" cops was good. Nice to see Richard Tyson show up for a guest role. The 2nd episode with the shopping mall robbers was also good. Lastly, the 3rd episode did not disappoint either. The ending was kind of a shocker.

I am sad to see this show go. Though one final episode remaining which will air tomorrow night.

Wow. In each episode they had a notable star. First Travis Merriweather gets killed. Sadly, he had as much to do with the plot as he does in an Enterprise episode.

Then they had the guy from The Shield. That was pretty bizarre to see him. Levar Burton was in the last episode.

Sad to see this show go, though. It looks like they went back to more of that individual perspective parts of the show with these episodes.

I haven't seen the first episode yey, I recorded it, but the 2 I did see were good.

It was cool seeing Lemonhead from the Shield in the second ep.

I thougt it felt more like they were going with the individual perspective's more also, which is probably why NBC cancelled it

Damn, I thought all three eps were really good. I really enjoyed seeing them use Lana Parrilla's character, Theresa Ortiz, in the first two eps. Joel was heading toward a love triangle w/ her and his wife (Megan Ward), too - what a predicament.

I thought Vanessa Williams interacted w/ the rest of the cast superbly - she was fitting right in.

Suprised to see how little they used the McNorris character in these three eps, even though he popped up in the second and third one. Neal McDonough was still fantastic as usual.

Last ep tonight at 10/9 Central.
