New Square PS1 Greatest Hits at Retail?

Has anyone spotted the new Square PS1 Greatest Hits at retail? I believe www.buy.com and www.videogamedeals.com are the only online sites to offer them, and I have yet to see them at Gamestop or EB...

The list includes:

Final Fantasy Anthology
FF Chronicles
FF Origins
Xenogears
Vagrant Story
Chrono Cross

Thanks!

Will FF Anthology and Chronicles work with the PS2 this time? I know that they are playable, but some of the item and save screens are jarbled on the original releases.

Considering the magnificant amount of effort Square put into porting these masterpieces onto the Playstation to begin with.. I wouldn't hold you breath for them to fix problems with them now.

I found both at best buy. Using the $5 coupon on the gamer gift car, I was able to pick them up for $15 + tax.

Final Fantasy Origins are much improved over the previous two releases. It has no load times.

For $14.99 I'll pick up Final Fantasy Anthology. I've already got FFC and FFO.

Do they have the Greatest Hits banner across the top?

Yeah, I know.. I was mostly referring to the SNES versions, as those are much closer to my heart than the older games. Now why FF3 wasn't included on Origins is beyond me, that game is cool.

Final Fantasy 3 wasn't included in Origins because the remakes were originally made for the Wonderswan color. FF3 hadn't been remade for the WSC at the time FFO was made.

I have all the PS FF collections, and they're great, but they're nowhere near the quality of the Super Nintendo version. And if you really want to play FFV and the Hard FFIV, i suggest you use ZSNES to play them. In fact, the fan-translated FFV dialogue is superior in quality found in FF Anthology, because Square's translation was actually done years ago when they were debating whether or not to release it in America. The fan re-translation of FFIV is also of superior quality. But i guess if you like loooooong load times, massive slowdown, but your games sugar-coated in useless extras, then get them.

At $20 there is no reason NOT to get these classic rpg's. I've yet to see them at the EB I work at, or the local Circuit City.

I've seen them at several best buys. When I asked a guy at EB, he looked at me like I was from another world, and then he assured me they will not be released as Greatest Hits. Maybe he was trying to get me to buy it for 49.99 USED.
