FREE___.com (dvd, videogames, giftplanet) FORUM PETITION

Hello all,

I am writing to inform all that many of us at DVDTalk have a topic thread in the Shopping Discussions > Store Forum called "One & Only Freedvds.com and Yourfreedvds.com FAQ (Part 2)". This topic has over 2867 replies and over 78337 views.

Though this topic is now closed, very many of us have decided that we need our own forum space for this subject. The main reasons are that there is too much clutter and information is spread out everywhere. There are very very many of us that feel this way and there has been talk of moving our discussion to another forum if this doesnt happen. Although this is very extreme and hope this doesn't happen, I know we all would love to stay here and hope that this can be made possible.

If you would like to see this happen, please sign the petition with simple short statement.

Thank you for reading this far,

Daniel Cuconati

I agree, the current topic is way too long at 115 pages.

opposed.

While it is important, you all should just start a couple threads. Seems like a graveyard if that is all it is about.

Though I don't know the thread very well. JMO

I agree...you can't find anything in the big thread anymore...besides, most of it is out of date.

A subforum has no benefit if all there is, is one long thread in it. Start some new threads that are relevant to certain points.

i agree-i joined in last night, while the thread is VERY informative, it took me like 2 hours to find what i was looking for. a separate forum would go a long way in helping newbies like me..i support this!

Randy,

I agree with you on the point you make. I believe the reason we don't have many small threads is that all the information is in that large thread.

It is sort of our "sub-forum" if you will, with different topics in the discussion of each message. I hope you see my point.

Thanks for letting us know that you are reading this and that we can make a change for the better.

Here are the 2 choices as I see them:

1) Continue it on a thread by thread basis in the store forum
2) Create a sub forum (which would be a sub forum of the DVD Clubs Forum)

DVD Talk Forum > Shopping Discussions > DVD Bargains > DVD Clubs > Free DVD Clubs

So which is preferable... A visable thread in the store forum, or being a sub of a sub?

gkleinman,

thanks for your response.

I believe it would be in the best interest of all of us to make it a forum (sub of a sub).

There are many many topics to be discussed and added and it would be great to have a place for them.

Keep us updated on your decisions,

Thanks again

I agree. Having our forum will just make it easier to get information and to search for it. 100+ pages is just a little too much.

Sub of a sub would work. I would suggest making a sticky thread within the store forums, directing people to the sub form. Also, I think we could help reduce the clutter and craziness if we could make maybe one central faq, with links to other relative threads, similar to the columbia house faqs. Just an idea, any thoughts?

Thanks

Thanks Guys,

I appreciate your help.

Here are some more threads that need to be moved to the new sub forum

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=334125

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=322007

I would like to ask if any mod can put a sticky in the store forum that says something along the lines of : To talk about Free___.com sites...see new subforum or something along those lines. This would be really helpfull...

I am also going to be writing some faq's for freedvds.com and will need them to be made into sticky's soon...but thats a little later..

Thanks a bunch

Dan
