hi, i need quite some infomation which may be very scarce on the net searchable with english.

my dad is going to germany/scandinavia tomorrow for a business trip and will have a weekend over frankfurt/wiesberden. i just wonder if it is worthwhile getting him to look for some german dvd editions of korean and japanese films in the domestic stores there.

can i have some advise about
1. the price of the domestic stores compared to the online stores
2. how is these german editions compared to the other prints in kr/hk/us/uk in terms of transfer quality/subtitle/extras?
3. what titles (either jp/kr films) are good buy?

of cos, the original dub and english subtitles for the main feature is a must.

actually my main interest might be ichi the killer dutch edition and the sharksfin man and peach girl german edition. i've little knowledge about the european asian-dvd market and had no idea how to start my research, so hopefully some of u can guide me in finding more infomation.

I dunno if you speak German, but if you do check out http://www.dvdinside.de/. They have alot of reviews, and a forum you should check out.

Hi there! This could be difficult. I guess the market is rather small. You have to be extra careful not to pick up DVDs with german-dub only or wrong aspect ratio (this should be avoided of course).

Stores are usualy a few dollars/euros cheaper than the local amazon or other online-retailers.

The german dvd "shark skin man and peach hip girl" is released by rapideyemovies. According to Reviews it should be okay (I have not seen it), but inferior to the japanese release. The german release has jap. 2.0 audio and german and english subs. Extras: jap. trailers and picture gallery.
