I was just wondering what the effect on volume and quality of sound would be if you hooked two identical subwoofers to the same lfe coax output of a receiver with a Y-splitter.
Thoughts?

i have NO idea what these other guys are thinking of, but using a Y splitter doesnt do anything to impedence. its a line level signal if you are using the LFE. using a Y splitter is how you use two subs. it works fine, ive been doing it for years now.

Oh yeah, it's a line level signal, not a power amp's output. So it won't hurt the receiver.
Splitting the line level output still does affect the impedance of the signal and can have effects on frequency response and level. But since the line level is at a relatively high impedance and it's only subwoofers we're talking about, the end result probably wouldn't be noticed.
