Is the LOTR TTT:EE Collector's Edition worth it?
I was at my local Wal-Mart last night and was going to pick this up but I couldn't decide whether or not it was worth the additional $35. They were selling non-CE for $24.88 and the CE for $59.99.
So, is the Gollum statue, disc & book worth $35, in your opinion?

It was worth it to me- since I got it for $50, I felt the extra stuff was worth the $25. I have a few other sideshow statues from the regular line and I have the first gift set. It was a no-brainer for me.
I could even take a further $10 discount from the rebate but I don't want to butcher my TTT theatrical DVD cover which is signed by John Rhys-Davies.

Seems like its worth it, Fellowship was an awesome set so no doubt this one should be great too. The statue is kinda lame looking but Im sure the die hards will go for the collectors set.

I passed on the CE this year as I didn't feel it was worth the extra money. I don't particularly like the statue and the bonus DVD is like a 20 some odd minute featurette on the making of said statue.
The bookends and the National Geographic DVD from last year's CE were worth the extra money, IMO.

It's worth it to me because I try to collect the Sideshow WETA statues--most of which are BEAUTIFUL. The Gollum statue isn't up to their high standard, but I figure that's because they mass produced these things, where the usual Sideshow statues are limited to about 300 pieces. The statue that came with the set is nice to have, though. I've also ordered the other Gollum statue with the offer that came in the set--it looks like it's of a higher quality than the one that came in the dvd set.

I'm glad that I got it. I liked the statue to begin with, but it has actually growing on me more and more . . . The disc (and the concept booklet that comes with it . . . people seem to forget about that) are pretty nice two . . . they come in a neat looking case.

Unless your rich, no.
The one for FOTR, tho yes. It comes with cool book holder things. The gollum thing well, does nothing. It just looks kinda cool.
Just get the normal one. =)
