The Gods Must Be Crazy in February

I just got a mail from Amazon that The Gods Must Be Crazy can be preordered. Release date is Feb 3rd. SRP is $29.95 and Amazon is listing it for 20.97.

All I can say is it's about time. 2004 is shaping up to be a banner year for DVD releases with Ikiru, Rules of the Game, the second wave of Warner Legends and this. I am going to need a second job to pay for all of this.

$29.95!

This is a classic I would love to own it but come on, this title should SRP at around $10-$14.

I'm thrilled that this classic is available, but I agree with Michael Corvin that $29.95 is a bit rough for the MSRP. If this was a feature packed edition of worthwhile extras perhaps it be worth it but I presume it will be pretty barebones. Perhaps I'll wait for the inevitable price drop!

Most films in general have a high MSRP but you wont see it sold at that price at any place other then Suncoast, Virgin and FYE. Best buy will most likely blow it out at 19.99 in the first week and sell it at around 22.99 the rest of the time. remember folks, it's a Suggested Retail price.

This is great news. My all-time favorite comedy.

But what's this about a second wave of Warner Legends?

I've never seen the movie, but just had someone recommend it to me. I was disappointed that it wasn't available on dvd. Thanks for the news.

Alright if it is I and II then I can see the price being justified. I will be picking it up. If not, I will wait for a price drop.

Where did you find this tidbit? I couldn't even find which studio is releasing it. Every search either leads back to Amazon, which doesn't give any technical details, or refers to the OOP VHS version. Inquiring minds want to know.

I wonder if this'll be a LE box set, which would include the infamous glass Coke bottle....

But with my luck the bottle would be filled with New Coke.

there's an ad in the new Rolling Stone magazine for this one, a nice 2 page ad too. it looks like it's gonna be a 2 disc set (1 disc for each film) and both discs feature segments of the final interview with N!xau among other features
